When I asked the Lord to share His heart with me for this journey, He brought me to Malachi 4:2
“The Sun of Righteousness shall rise with healing in His wings…”
Here we find the picture of a new day dawning. A new day brings with it new hope, mercies and possibilities. The darkness is wiped away and the brightness of the morning shines. In this dawning, we find a bright and shining sun covering us across an expansive sky its radiant beams of light carrying healing and restoration from the very core, which is Jesus Christ.
Moreover, we’re promised in Isaiah 30:26 that the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun (darkness is replaced with light) – and it’s in this day that the Lord binds up the bruise of His people and heals the stroke of their wounds.
For the children who will come to us broken, bruised and rejected – a new day of hope will rise. In the light of the Son, they will find healing because surely He has already borne our grief and carried our sorrow – He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement for our peace was upon Him and by His stripes they are healed. (Isaiah 53:4-5) This healing work has already been provided for and the remedy for their broken hearts lies in Jesus because He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds. (Psalm 147:3)
The day a boy or girl enters our home is a demarcation point in their life. The point where healing begins, hope rises and a new day dawns.
It’s A New Day For The Outcast
Our sons and daughters are promised in Jeremiah 30:17 that He will restore them to health and heal their wounds because they were called an outcast and no one sought them. On this day, they discover that they’ve not only been found, but they are wanted and they belong.
It’s A New Day With No More Shame
From Joel 2:25-26 we can promise them that He will restore to them the years that the locust has eaten – they will eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord their God, who has dealt wondrously with them. And they shall never again be put to shame.
It’s A New Day Of Everlasting Joy
In Isaiah 61:27 we find further promise that instead of their shame they shall have a double portion; instead of dishonor they shall rejoice; in their land they shall possess a double portion; they shall have everlasting joy.
It’s A New Day With A Hope & Future
Our faithful Father speaks directly to them in Jeremiah 29:11 with this promise, “For I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
As parents, family, community and friends let us find ourselves faithful to complete this call to be vessels of healing and restoration in the lives of these most precious sons and daughters. Let the inner sanctum of our homes be defined by love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Galatians 5:22)
Let us now commit ourselves to prayer, engage ourselves in healing work, encourage one another in times of trial and join in partnership together to see our children prosper. A New Day is Dawning.
