#27: Today is Bosses’ Day and our administrative staff served breakfast to all of the ministry leaders and pastors this morning. My team gave me a really great card, flowers and a balloon. You have to be thankful for a workplace that finds value in recognition of their staff. I’m also thankful that I get to work with a great team of people everyday. Team, your balloon says “You’re the Greatest” and I appreciate that – but I’m not great without your great support around me. For all of this, I’m very, very thankful. Now, get back to work and quit reading my blog.

#26: New Discoveries. I love having a sense of humor, especially when I can laugh at myself.
) Today, I discovered that the iSight Camera on my laptop was once again working (it had been broken… but my wonderful media guy/apple guru, Craig, fixed it – thanks Craig!!!) After discovering that it worked, I also discovered that I could record from Photo Booth….. and I captured myself as I made my wonderful discovery. The video is short and funny. I call it Camera Discovery…. click on the picture below to enjoy.

#25: Office Humor. Ok, so those who know me also know that I work really hard, my team works really hard and we get a lot done…. sometimes at miraculous paces. However, we also like to have fun and I, specifically, am always looking for a way to pick on my team members… throwing a ball over a cubicle wall (or a balloon), turning stuff around backwards on their desks, taping their phone mouthpieces so they can’t be heard, and other random silliness. This morning, I came into my office to find all of MY STUFF turned upside down, backwards or moved completely to Steve’s office. I also found this wonderful sign taped to my wall… courtesy of Cat, our wonderful Graphic Designer.
You gotta love a little office humor, but man it stings when you fall for your own pranks.

#24: Good friends and good food. I had the pleasure of having lunch with Steve, Kelsey and two of my wonderful team members, Shannon and Cat. We ate at Ted’s (to anyone who knows me this is no surprise…. I love…love…love….love Ted’s Montana Grill). It’s always fun to introduce people to the joy of Buffalo Burgers… Kelsey, Shannon and Cat had never had them. They, of course, loved them.
) YAY. Although, weirdly enough, we were having a discussion before the meal about how Cat becomes the Inspector General every time she eats – inspecting every morsel before it enters her mouth; even going so far as to say, “I can spot a hair in my food immediately.” Needless to say, she jinxed us. Poor Shannon’s food comes out and bite #1 contains a huge hair. Gross. The waitress and staff were apologetic and brought out new “hairless” food and comped her meal.
Here’s some pics I snapped at lunch….
Kelsey looking happy and full after enjoying her burger….
Shannon smiling after enjoying her hairless burger….
Cat … um… well, being Cat.
Kelsey in front of the Forum Shoppe’s Waterfall thingy…. I couldn’t help myself.
Steve, Shannon and Cat waiting for my picture taking to end….

#23: New Beginnings. I’ve shared that we were adopting again, a 15 year old named Kelsey. Well, we met Kesley last night when she moved into our home and we couldn’t have asked for a sweeter, more beautiful daughter. We spent a lot of time organizing her room, shopping and playing the Wii and we enjoyed her tremendously. I’m so thankful to God that he gave us the opportunity to be parents to this wonderful girl. I’m also thankful to God that he brought Kelsey here to give her a new beginning in life. I’m positive that God is about to do really big, beautiful and wonderful things in her life. Kelsey, we love and adore you so much already. We’re proud to be your mom and dad.
Here’s my first picture with our new daughter:
Here’s the first gift that we gave her with a beautiful note inside the front cover… if you read my blog, you know that I love this book, The Shack – it’s a wonderful, fictional tale that really puts God’s love for us into true perspective. I hope Kelsey finds healing and inspiration within its pages.
